Baby College Seymour
Baby College is a free program that supports parents for 12 months during prenatal and early postnatal periods.
Aims of Baby College
- Sustained engagement with families of children at risk of poor learning and academic outcomes from the pre-natal period
- Improve the learning, safety, health and development of children
- Build strong parent-child relationships
- Create more stimulating home learning environments
- Enhance parental well-being, competence and confidence
- Increase community connectedness
- Ensure more timely identification of family needs and actively support engagement with secondary prevention services
- Connect and transition parents into programs and supports.
Content
Evidence-based content is delivered by two highly skilled facilitators weekly to provide newborns with the best and supportive start in life. The latest advice on safe and recommended sleep and feeding guidelines are covered, underpinned by attachment theory, the circle of security and an understanding of brain development. Evidence-based resources and expert presenters are drawn on to deliver a number of sessions.

Eligibility
- Pregnant and in your third trimester
- Or parents with a baby up to 6 months of age
- Able to commit and attend weekly groups in person over a 12-month period
- Willing to work in a small group environment with other parents and babies
Enrollments are ongoing, families can join at any time.
